TESTIMONIALS

Jennifer was my first teacher when I was 7 years old and I loved going to piano lessons because there was always a game to play. I liked the copy-clap game the best! It was sad when she moved away but I kept up with my piano lessons and still play today.

I took piano lessons from Jennifer to learn Rudiments theory and help prepare for another instrument outside of piano. She was very patient with me and when I didn’t understand something she would try it in a different way until I got it. She never got frustrated with me, even though I was getting frustrated with myself!

I wasn’t happy with my previous teacher and when I found Jennifer it was a refreshing approach and change to the way I was being taught by previous teachers. We came up with a plan of what I wanted to accomplish that year and we set out and did it. She also helped me with my horrible stage fright. I hated performing because I get so nervous but Jennifer taught me some relaxation exercises and techniques prior to going into an examination or festival performance in front of an adjudicator. I still get a bit nervous but not at all like before. She’s a great teacher!!

I let Jennifer know that it was going to be difficult to get my son, Peter, who was 11 at the time, to concentrate on piano lessons and even more difficult to practice because he hadn’t with previous teachers. It took him a few weeks but he started coming home and actually wanting to practice and showing me how he could ‘dissect’ a piece of music and learn it 10 times faster than how he had been learning it before. We were very happy with his progress.

Great approach to teaching! Fun games, always something new. Really really enjoyed my lessons!

She helped me schedule myself and stay on track – keep organized in preparation for my RCM Gr. 7 exam. She would also give me practice exams so that it didn’t feel so scary going into the room prior to writing a rudiments theory exam or playing the practical exam.
