About Me

Meet Elijah Newland

Hello! I'm Elijah Newland, a dedicated and passionate piano teacher with a wealth of experience and a deep love for music and working with children. Here are a few reasons why you should consider me for your piano lessons:

With over a decade of piano playing experience, I have honed my skills in various musical settings. From playing in the praise band at my church to performing professionally and being compensated for my talents, I bring a rich and diverse musical background to my teaching. I've played in numerous recitals over the years, including a performance at the prestigious UNF's Fine Arts Center. Additionally, I have participated in a festival where I received the highest score of "superior."

I also have extensive experience working with children. I have spent over a year working at a preschool, where I gained valuable insights into the unique needs and learning styles of young children. I hold several certifications from my work, including First Aid and CPR, as well as completing the DCF 45 hours training.

My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I love children and enjoy working with them, creating a positive and supportive learning environment. My goal is to help students discover the joy of playing the piano and develop a lifelong love for music.

Inside my studio, you'll find a state-of-the-art Yamaha Music Synthesizer S90XS keyboard, perfect for creating diverse and dynamic sounds as well as a beautiful piano. The studio is also equipped with an Electro Voice Evolve 30M PA sound system, ensuring crystal-clear audio for every lesson and performance. To top it off, we use Shure SM58 microphones, renowned for their reliability and exceptional sound quality. Join us for an unparalleled musical experience! 🎹🎶

My Certifications and Experience

With a wealth of experience in childcare, I have over 4 years of experience working with children and I dedicated over a year to working in a preschool setting, where I developed a deep understanding of the unique needs and learning styles of young children. My hands-on experience in this nurturing environment has equipped me with the skills to create a positive and supportive atmosphere for children of all ages.

Certifications:

First Aid: Certified in providing immediate care in emergency situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation): Trained in life-saving techniques to respond to respiratory and cardiac emergencies.
DCF 45 Hours Training: Completed the Florida Department of Children and Families’ 45-hour training program, covering essential topics such as child growth and development, behavioral observation and screening, and health, safety, and nutrition.
